My Valentines

I am lucky enough to have 3 Valentines now. My handsome husband, adorable Johnny monster, and Izzy busy buns. Brad took us all out on Saturday to dinner, and it was absolutely delicious. Dessert was even better. This is the heavenly piece of chocolate cake that Brad and I shared. Don't the chocolate curls look divine?

Johnny chowed down on his gelato like there was no tomorrow. He even took the extra spoon so no one else could steal any of it.


And here's sweet Isabela in her "love me" shirt. We do love her so much, and can't believe she's turning 5 months this week!

Cousin Fun

My sister Melinda came and stayed for a few days with us last week while her husband was out of town. I loved having her here, and Henry seemed to really enjoy playing with Johnny and Bela. Henry is such a sweetheart, and I think it's adorable how much he loves his mom. He gets a little jealous when he feels she's showing too much attention to anyone else.

I wanted a picture of Melinda with Henry and Bela, and just had to laugh when I saw Henry's face:


Clearly, he doesn't want her to get too comfortable sharing his mom's lap. Thanks again for visiting guys, we love you!

Little Engineer

For Christmas Johnny got this set of blocks that he absolutely loves. It's fun to watch him work on his buildings, and even funnier when his Dad starts explaining about structural support as Johnny just keeps stacking the blocks higher. He knows what's going on.

The Great Escape

Today I caught Johnny trying to sneak out of the house. He'd been coming up to me all morning telling me he wanted to go bye-bye to church, and was very upset when I told him we weren't going today. I guess he decided to take matters into his own hands. I was sitting in the living room playing with baby sister when I looked up and saw him over by the front door reaching up on his tip-toes trying to open the front door so he could make a break for it. I love that he's also wearing his dad's jersey over his shirt, and holding on tight to his popsicle. This kid has style.

The Perfect Gift

For Valentine's Day this year I wanted to get Brad the perfect gift. Unfortunately for me, I waited too long and it sold out.

No, this is not a Snuggie, it's a Slanket. I don't think anyone could say no to a blanket with sleeves made for two. How romantic.

A Little Christmas Fun. . .

I feel bad I sounded like such a complainer in our Christmas post. Even though traveling got old, we really did have a great vacation. Here's Bela wearing the same onesie Johnny wore last Christmas, "Who needs Santa, I've got grandparents!" It's kind of fun to see her in a hand-me-down from her big brother. While we were in Mesquite, BYU played in the Vegas Bowl. Brad headed down to Vegas with his brothers to go to the game, and made me promise to put Johnny and Bela in their BYU gear by game time. Brad was very happy with his Christmas gift from Daylen and Ashley, and has already put up the inspira-tional message from Tecmo Superbowl up in his office at work. Johnny LOVED playing with this car while at Maurie and Christy's. I'm sure he wishes he could have driven it all the way to his house.

Johnny and Bela had such a great time playing with all of their cousins. It was so nice that my parents came to Colorado too so we were able to see them as well. We didn't take very many pictures, largely because we all got sick, but we really did have a fun time visiting with everyone. Sorry again to everyone we infected, and we can't wait to see you all again soon!

He's a Good Finder

This is Johnny's favorite shirt. He would wear it all the time if I let him. When I ask him in the morning to help mom find a shirt for him to wear, he always goes for this blue and brown striped one. I get tired of washing it, and of having to convince him another shirt is just as good, so I have taken to hiding his favorite shirt. I washed it last night, and hung it up in the guest room this morning thinking I was safe.

It took Johnny all of 5 minutes after he had woken up to go into the room, pull the shirt off the hanger, and bring it out triumphantly for me to help him put it on. I guess there are many less attractive things he could be attached to, and I do think the shirt is cute, so I'll consider myself lucky for now.
