How old is too old to swaddle your child?

Johnny let me wrap him up last night, just like I used to when he was a baby to put him to sleep.

We've definitely come a long way from this:

just a few days old

Gardens

Melinda and I decided to hit up Thanksgiving Gardens to enjoy one more $2 Tuesday. We got there right when they opened, and hit up the children's discovery garden first. There is a giant Noah's ark water feature right when you enter the garden, so of course Henry and Johnny had to try it out. I stayed back with Bela and let Melinda handle the kids. She is very good with children.

Henry got a little soaked, okay maybe completely, but they had a great time.

I didn't take any other pictures of the gardens, but I did take a picture of the waterfalls. Supposedly they are the largest man-made waterfalls in the world. They were not as impressive in person as on the commercial. Lots less water running while we were there. Overall the kids had a blast, and with only $4 spent for all 5 of us to get in, I'd say we made out pretty well.

Jammies

When we were in Idaho for the 24th, Brad's mom gave all of the grandkids pajamas she had made.

Johnny loves them, and especially loves it when he and his sister are both wearing their "temple jammies".

Did I Mention...

that a certain sweet baby girl is now standing and walking on her own? She stood up in the middle of the room, without any help from anything. And it was definitely not a fluke, she stood up about 30 more times in the next ten minutes, very pleased with her new skill.

She's still a little wobbly on the walking, and not as convinced that it's the best mode of transportation yet, but that's okay with me. Oh and she's also only drinking out of a sippy now, no more bottles for her. I am loving life.

More T-Rex Please

We took advantage of $2 Tuesdays at Thanksgiving Point and headed up to the dinosaur museum this week. Of course it was packed, but we had a great time.

The Game

We went to the Orem Owlz game for Brad's work party. This picture pretty much sums up the evening. There was a delicious barbecue before the game started, and then we sat and watched about two innings of the game before both kids got way too wiggly. So we headed home. Johnny was sad and didn't understand why he couldn't get down and run around on the field with the players. If we'd stayed any longer, I'm sure he'd have figured out a way down there. Overall, I'd call the night a success. Mostly because Johnny didn't end up on the field.

Bean Museum

Johnny wanted in on some reptile fun, mostly to go see "snakey" again, so we hit up the Bean Museum for another class. Johnny was very pleased and happy when it was his turn to touch the reptiles.

Johnny just had to came back up and say hi to Monty one more time after the class was over.

Bowling

Aunt Melinda and cousin Henry came over to play yesterday. Johnny had been looking forward to it all week long. We had to change our plans from Pirate's Cove to bowling because it'd hopefully be quicker so Brad could come with us too. The kids were ecstatic, "Go bowling! Go bowling!"

I don't think Miracle Bowl knew what hit them. The second we walked in the door Henry took off running across the lobby with Johnny right behind him. They jumped down the stairs and were halfway down a lane IN USE before we caught up to them. After we got their shoes on and a ball picked out, we were in business. For about 7 frames, and then we were done. Of course Brad had shown up a little after us, and finished two games in the lane next to us during that same time, but we still had a blast. Even though Henry got a black eye. Didn't you know bowling was a contact sport?

The Time We Saw Karim

Our friends Toph and Emily hosted a barbecue this last Saturday with a group of college friends. It was so much fun to see everyone. Cory and Tiff were in town visiting family, Bedke came down from Idaho and the big surprise was Karim and his wife Shamima who had just moved to Taylorsville! It was great being able to visit and catch-up with everyone.
